Numenera Jade Colossus 2025-09-21

  • We continue down the chamber past several more crystals
  • I touch one of the stones which glows. As the glow envelops me I notice my beard has grown and I feel tired
  • Yuzu sings to the crystal which changes shape into a large human head which begins to moan
  • I give Chunk a time piece and send him near the crystal and several hours past in mere minutes
  • we use this to age 17 bottles of wine
  • I go to another crystal. Several green lights appear above the crystal begin to count down. As they finish the ground beneath my feet becomes intangible. Yuzu narrowly saves me
  • I approach a third crystal with some mechanical components sticking out. I pull out an obstruction and turn the crank which opens a hidden compartment revealing a plain green box that is humming gently
  • Inside is the skull of a human. The teeth have been replaced with decorative metallic insects.
  • A blue box now appears inside the crystal. I open it, a blue smoke is released which levels up all the items in our inventory
  • A red box now appears in the crystal. I fling it open and all our cyphers are drained
  • Next a clear box appears. I open it. Yuzu and I can suddenly many dimensions at once. We lose 8 hours staring into the void overwhelmed by the sensations
  • I feed Chunk a stone
  • We encounter a wall made of these same crystals. Luckily they don't seem to react to our presence
  • we plan our accent and notice a faint dust in the air but since we can't examine it we just try to protect ourselves and continue
  • We climb up the wall and the dust seems to start clinging to Yuzu's clothes but she dusts herself off
  • The hallway continues with noticeably fewer crystals. In the distance we see large movement.
  • We realize that we've just done a large circle and are back at the inconsistent stone room
  • After some investigating I figure out that the destination of the teleporter changes depending on what the stone is displaying.
  • I leap onto the disk and we are warped to the Hand of Fury chamber. It seems to be sealed off and the only out are several teleportation pads
  • Yuzu recognizes that it seems to be switching between different attack forms from all different martial art forms, including Alien ones.
  • We spend a few days watching and trying to learn from the Hand
  • Chunk seems interested in the base of the hand, like something might be underneath but I tell him to leave it alone
  • Ludin has too much to drink which angers the Hand which summons an avatar to "test" Ludin
  • Yuzu and I become trained in unarmed combat
