Dnd Notes 09-12-21 B-Team [Adam's Notes]

  • Jimco regales us with tales of desert foods including poisonous cactus and baby sandworm pancakes
  • He also tells us of a lost city in the desert that was known for its meat on a stick. Infaris believes that she is also being drawn to this place by some unknown force
  • Shuja receives a message from her mother telling her that the family is converting to a new religion, something to do with a flaming lady and requests that Shuja come home.
  • Shuja doesn't reveal all the details of the message to the group but does inform us that she needs to leave
  • Shuja quickly says her goodbyes and head off on the big camel. She seems to be very interested in heading out
  • Jimco, Infaris, and Pheonix set-off eastward
  • We stop for a rest and feel the ground rumble, the camels seem nervous
  • We spot some object in the distance to the north east and head that direction
  • As we approach what seems to be an oasis, we see a creature resting below a palm tree
  • Infais creates a sandstorm to mask their approach and makes her face appear, Mummy style
  • The creature tries to create a bonfire to block the path of the sandstorm but Infaris quickly puts it out.
  • Jimco urges his camel forward and bursts out from the massive sandstorm like an action star and approaches the half-orc near the oasis
  • He has a conversation with Dave the half orc while refilling his canteen. Meanwhile Infaris continues her sandstorm charade
  • Dave warns us that the tremors mean that sandworms are nearby which is bad news
  • Dave tells us about how he has been stranded since his former companions
  • Infaris introduces herself and Phoenix then uses gust to push Dave into the whirlpool.
  • Dave is able to quickly attach a rope to a tree then is able to pull himself through out of the whirlpool
  • Infaris then threatens to let Pheonix try to see what is at the bottom of the whirlpool (which she wants to do) unless Dave decides to investigate herself
  • Dave unreasonable complains about being pushed into the whirlpool. Apparently he isn't a team player
